SHLOMI BROSH

Brosh deals with the traces of things, traces of a presence that was and has passed; His artistic impulse is directed to the question of the representation of existence, he deals with the sediments of presence accumulated within the material and defines them as a language from which he emerges into the metaphysical and symbolic.
His work is centered on the way in which the so-called material is called spiritual. Precipitation in matter, the states of accumulation of matter are read as a metaphysical language dealing almost obsessively with source and language relations. When he uncovers these sediments from the material and processes them, he sometimes places them on the exposed nerves of the symbolic sediments.
The feeling is that the missing void, which is embodied in the language of existence, he does not seek on the historical level but on a very implicit, thin and minimalistic metaphysical level.
